How RustHub Works

Guide

Everything the hub does, in the order you will need it — from signing in to staking your treasury on a clan war.

Start Here

Follow the getting-started chain

The same steps below, as a chain of quests that pay scrap as you finish them.

1

Sign in with Discord

One click in the top-right. We receive your Discord user ID, username and avatar — never your password, and no access to your messages or servers. That ID is what lets the bot recognise you as the same person.

2

Link your game accounts

Optional. Run /me in Discord and paste your public BattleMetrics or Steam profile ID — an ID, never a password or a login. It only exists so RustHub can credit scrap for the hours you actually play; skip it and everything else still works.

3

Join or start a clan

Browse the directory, apply through Recruitment, or ask an admin to set your clan up in /clan. Almost everything on RustHub is better with a clan behind you.

4

Run /play to get a game

The one door onto playing somebody. Post a scrim any clan can take, take one that is already up, or call out a rival by name — the bot asks which you want and opens the right builder. Nothing to memorise.

Clans

Your clan is your home on RustHub — a public page, a roster, and a shared treasury.

  • Leaders invite from /clan; the player accepts from their Invites page or in /clan.
  • Every clan gets a public page with roster, region, playstyle, and match record.
  • Clan leaders can edit their page — logo, slogan, accent colour, pitch and requirements, all free.
  • Several leaders? Manage Clan picks which one shows as CLAN LEADER, and who else is listed to contact.
  • The treasury is shared scrap: in /clan you deposit into it, and leaders withdraw from it.
  • Featured and Showcase slots put your clan at the top of the directory with a full-bleed banner.

Recruitment

The noticeboard for clans that are actively looking for players.

  • Flip your clan to recruiting from its edit page and it appears here automatically.
  • Write a pitch and a "looking for" list so applicants know the requirements up front.
  • Take applications on the hub and each one lands in your inbox with an account check already attached.
  • Pick what an application must contain — a public Steam profile, readable Rust hours, a BattleMetrics id, a mic. The account ones are verified against their real profile, not taken on trust.
  • Applying? Every requirement comes with instructions, and you can run the clan’s check against your own accounts before you send.
  • Set an apply link (a Discord invite or a form) — without one, applicants contact you in Discord.

Leader Hub

A private floor for clan leaders — where the scene decides things together instead of in twelve Discords.

  • Open to leaders of clans with more than 8 members, and to staff. A Leader Tools bar appears under the nav once you qualify.
  • Votes: servers, wipe dates, maps. One vote per clan rather than per leader, and every result shows which clans backed what.
  • Discussion: updates that broke something, servers worth playing, and how the scene runs.
  • Directory: every clan, the leaders it puts forward, and a direct line to them — plus staff.
  • Demos: ask whether anyone has footage of a player from a wipe (by SteamID), or hand over what you recorded.

Wipelists

Public declarations of who is rolling what size on which server this wipe.

  • Sign on with /wipelist — pick the server (staff have already set the wipe time), your team size, and a screenshot of your announcement.
  • An admin verifies it in /admin → Wipes, which locks in your announced size.
  • The point is accountability: announce your numbers, then be held to them.

Scrap

The site currency. Earned by showing up — never bought with real money, never cashed out.

  • Talking in Discord earns 1 scrap per message, at most once every 60 seconds.
  • Sitting in voice earns 1 scrap per minute.
  • Playing Rust on a tracked server earns 2 scrap per minute once BattleMetrics is linked.
  • Claiming bounties and winning clan fights pay out the rest.
  • Check your balance any time with /me, or spend it in the store.
Spend it in the store

Bounties

Put scrap on a rival's head. Anyone can collect by proving the kill.

  • Place one on the site from the Bounties page, or with /bounty in Discord — the bot walks you through target and reward.
  • The scrap leaves your balance when you place it, so a bounty is always funded.
  • Hunters claim with /bounty too — choose “Claim a bounty”, pick it from the list, add video proof and the kill time.
  • Admins check the timestamp against BattleMetrics before anything pays out.
  • A sponsor can attach a real-world prize. That is settled directly between sponsor and winner — RustHub only confirms the result.

Scrims

Pick-up games between clans. Nothing staked, no admin, and a rating that follows you.

  • A leader posts what they can play and how long they are around for — /scrim, /play, or the button on the scrim board.
  • Any other clan takes it. First to accept gets it, and the post comes straight off the board.
  • The bot opens a private thread with both captains in it. Pick a server on the buttons there, then play.
  • Both captains report the score afterwards. Matching reports settle it on the spot — no staff, no waiting.
  • Both ratings move. Everyone starts at 1200; beat a stronger clan and you gain more, lose to a weaker one and you drop further.
  • Reports that disagree go to staff, and a report the other side never answers stands after 24 hours.

Clan Fights

A callout aimed at one named rival — the opposite of a scrim, which anyone can take. Add a wager and both treasuries are on the line.

  • /fight picks an opponent from a list, with an optional wager, format and time.
  • No wager: nothing staked but your record. They accept, decline, or concede.
  • With a wager: both clans stake it, both agree the time, both film it, and the winner takes the pot.
  • Everything after that — accepting, countering the time, conceding, submitting video — is a button on the fight itself.
  • Ignoring a fight is recorded too. Wins, losses and ducks all show on your clan page.

Seasons & Competitions

Ranked play across a wipe cycle, with a public leaderboard.

  • Standings are built from verified results — bounty claims, challenge wins, and clan battles.
  • Entry is free. You qualify by playing, never by paying.
  • Where a season carries a real-world prize, the organiser or sponsor delivers it directly.

What the RustHub bot can do

Scrap is a closed loop — earned by playing, spent on the hub, never exchanged for cash. Competitions are decided on skill, and any real-world prize comes from the organiser or sponsor directly.
